Rules of Engagement
Scope and Applicability
This RoE is enacted under the authority of BMCAP's Board of Trustees, which retains the right to amend and enforce these rules. It applies to all members, officers, and committees involved in BMCAP activities, including meetings, professional collaborations, and communications, internal or external.
Core Values and Ethics
Members must adhere to the BMCAP Code of Ethics and demonstrate professionalism guided by the following values:

Roles and Responsibilities
The Board of Trustees is responsible for strategic guidance, ethical oversight, and financial governance. Members are expected to uphold the association's mission, participate actively, and follow all governance structures as outlined in the Rules of Engagement and Code of Ethics.
Professional Conduct
All members must act with integrity, honesty, and transparency in professional interactions, whether internal or external to BMCAP. They must avoid conflicts of interest and uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior in accordance with the BMCAP Code of Ethics.
Communication Protocols
Members shall communicate professionally and respectfully. Official communications will be carried out through designated channels, including email, the BMCAP website, and approved digital platforms. The Communications Committee oversees adherence to these standards.
Conflict Resolution
Ethical concerns and disputes are reviewed by the Ethics Review Committee. The committee investigates cases, provides recommendations, and escalates matters to the Board of Trustees when necessary to ensure impartial resolution.
Decision-making Processes
The General Assembly is BMCAP's highest decision-making body. Members in good standing vote on major decisions, including trustee elections and rule amendments. A quorum and two-thirds vote of the Board are required for amendments.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Members are expected to protect all sensitive information gained through BMCAP activities. Confidentiality obligations extend beyond the period of membership.
Compliance and Legal Requirements
BMCAP adheres to local laws and industry standards. All members must comply with legal obligations, especially regarding data privacy, reporting, and ethical conduct.
Reporting Misconduct
Members may report unethical behavior or breaches of conduct to the Ethics Review Committee or Board of Trustees. Reporting channels ensure confidentiality and, where appropriate, anonymity.
Disciplinary Actions
Corrective measures include warnings, performance reviews, suspension, or expulsion. The Board decides based on the recommendation of relevant committees and in accordance with demerit criteria defined in the Rules of Engagement.
Amendments and Updates
The Rules of Engagement are subject to annual review by the Board of Trustees. Any member may propose amendments, which require a two-thirds Board vote and ratification during the General Assembly.
